Technics SL Q3
A very solid direct drive fully automatic turntable with quartz locking speed control. Typical Technics build quality, heavy, well made and great sounding. This model has a very good arm and seems to take any cartridge well, I have tried a few, Grado, Shure V15 Mk.II, Stanton 681, several different Audio Technica all performed extremely well.
N.B If the auto and "memo repeat" function fail it's usually a matter of cleaning off hardened and sticky grease on the mechanical parts, easy to access, the memo repeat part can be accessed by removing the platter. The bottom can be removed for the rest; take care, don't displace or break anything, or it gets messy fast! And don't power the turntable without the platter in place or you may end up with electronic problems - those integrated circuits are very hard to replace.
